History

Devices have developed and came a long way since the  early 1800s. It has helped  millions of people around the world to communicate with each other for hundreds of years and it is still evolving. From sending letters to  dialing numbers on a rotary phone to just a few quick  clicks on our smartphones. In the sense of money, it's probably cheaper to send a quick message on our phones rather than sending a letter back then. And sending a letter is pretty time consuming as it might take a few weeks or even a few months to get a reply back. As well, your letter can easily get lost, destroyed or stolen during transportation.

What is ICT?

ICT stands for "Information Communication Technology" and it is the use of technology to create a communication network for people to communicate. This can range from phones to computers.

Even though electronic devices make it incredibly easy and convenient to communicate and get information there still are cons. People are glued to their devices which can affect their mental and physical health. Recent statistics show that on average we spend about 6 hours and 40 minutes per day looking at our screens. An example of it affecting your physical wellbeing is that being in front of a computer all day for work can affect your neck and back by causing constant pain. Always being on your phone can interfere with your sleep which affects your brain growth. As well, it can lead to isolation from others which then can result in loneliness and anxiety.
